WOW Glacier Love in Zell am See-Kaprun

Largest winter opening party weekend in the Alps taking place for the third time: WOW Glacier Love in Zell am See-Kaprun

Sets from top acts such as Filous, Nora en Pure and Mefjus to fire up visitors ++ Secure early bird packages now ++ Highest chair lift in the Salzburg region open

Zell am See-Kaprun (w&p), 18th August 2016 – After the first two brilliant weekends, the WOW Glacier Love Festival in Zell am See-Kaprun promises to be even more spectacular this year. From 4th to 6th November 2016 the region will be one of the first to launch the new season with the successful winter sports and music festival in the heart of Kaprun and on the Kitzsteinhorn glacier. The only glacier ski region in the Salzburg area offers perfect skiing pleasure from as early as October.

Powder snow and party highlights
The town of Kaprun will be transformed into the largest party zone in the Alps on Friday 4th and Saturday 5th November 2016. The event starts at 8 pm in the festival area on the WOW main stage with the best international DJs that the club scene has to offer. The Austrian music producer and multi-instrumentalist Filous (“How Hard I Try” - more than ten million streams) is currently one of the hottest acts on the electronics scene and has already been confirmed as part of the festival line-up. Internationally renowned DJs such as Nora en Pure, Mefjus, Lovra will also be behind the turntables to herald the arrival of winter. During the day on Saturday and Sunday snow lovers can discover the latest innovations from the world of winter sports at the Product Expo.

On Saturday and Sunday visitors can look forward to beautifully prepared slopes and a comprehensive programme of events on the Kitzsteinhorn. The latest ski and snowboard models will be available for testing at the Alpine Centre from as early as 9 am. While early risers strut their stuff on the fresh snow and enjoy the wide panoramic views of the surrounding mountains, DJs and live acts will provide the right music on the slopes from 10 am onwards. From 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday 5th November 2016 freestylers can show off their best jumps and stunts at almost 3,000 metres during the WOW Trick4Cash battle in the Glacier Park in the hope of winning cash prizes.

Party time for early bookers: early bird packages already available
Complete festival packages with accommodation, festival pass and ski pass as well as individual festival passes are already available to people wanting to book early under www.wowglacierlove.at. The WOW regular package for 219 Euros includes entrance to the WOW festival area, Shake da House party and the WOW parties in Kaprun, along with two nights’ accommodation with breakfast in a three-star hotel including a two day ski pass for the Kitzsteinhorn. The festival pass for both evenings costs 59 Euros.

NEW from winter: Salzburg‘s highest chair lift, funline and guided ski tour
The Kitzsteinhorn glacier invites skiers and ski tourers to visit the area from early October and enjoy the first fresh snow and ideal conditions. From November 2016 the new Schmiedinger line – a chair lift for eight people with heated seats and protective hoods in place of the Schmiedinger T-bar lift – offers winter sports enthusiasts even more comfort and more glacier slopes for skiing pleasure at a height of almost 3,000 metres. New this year: the “Eagle Line,” a fun slope with wave ride, smaller jumps, sharp turns and lots more for winter enthusiasts of all ages.

A paradise with powder snow: every Thursday there is a guided ski tour on the 2,642 metre high Tristkogel. While travelling down the deep-snow slopes tourers can enjoy an exciting experience on unspoilt terrain. The tour with a certified mountain guide costs 115 Euros (excluding ski ticket). All necessary emergency equipment is included. Ski tour equipment is also available for rent.
