NEW: Info Point and two routes for ski touring
Ski touring autumn
Ski tourer are especially welcome in Autumn on the Kitzsteinhorn and this year they can enjoy new ski touring offers: a ski touring Info Point on the Langwiedboden, two new routes and cuisine aligned to endurance athletes.
Ski touring Info Point & two new routes
A cable car brings you up to the ski touring Info Point on the Langwiedboden at 1.976m above sea level. Here you can gather information about correct conduct, alpine dangers and the two route recommendations - called the „Eisbrecher“ (Icebreaker) and the „Schnee-königen“ (Snow Queen) which run down beside the pistes. The „Schnee-königen“ runs from the Langwiedboden to the Alpincenter, negotiating 474 altitude metres. The „Eisbrecher“ also starts at the Langwiedboden but runs past the Alpincenter to the top station of the Maurer lift at 2.875 metres – with riders negotiating 899 altitude metres. All endurance athletes treasure training at these high altitudes where the „thin“ air has less oxygen.
Culinary enjoyment for sportsmen
The Kitzsteinhorn gastronomy is also taking care of its ski tourer: the Skyline Bar in the Alpincenter has more high-carbohydrate dishes and alcohol reduced drinks on their special ski tourer menu card. The end of Autumn ski touring on the Kitzsteinhorn will be celebrated at the „Skitouren-Treff“, a cosy get-together, with a tombola, on the 7th December 2013 in the Skyline Bar.
