4* Freeride World Tour Challenger on the Kitzsteinhorn
They are the decisive events when it comes to rising to next year's freeride major league: the Challengers.
The X OVER RIDE enjoys cult status among freeriders – it's been taking place on the Kitzsteinhorn since 2004. This year, the legendary event has been significantly upgraded: In 2024, on its 20th anniversary, the X OVER RIDE is held as 4* Freeride World Tour Challenger for the first time.
Hence, world's best freeriders are going to fight for Freeride World Tour 2025 qualification points on the Lakarschneid face on March 20. Those who want to join live, get an unobstructed view from the public viewing area on the Langwied. The event will also be live-streamed.
Being up close on the Langwied
From 8:30 a.m., visitors reach the event area on the Langwied either from the Kaprun town center via the MK Maiskogelbahn and 3K K-onnection, or from the Kaprun valley via the Gletscherjet 1. There is no better spot to watch the riders' runs, the finish area and the judges.
Tip: The riders' runs are also visible while riding the 3K K-onncetion from the Maiskogel to Langwied.
