World stars in the Kitzsteinhorn superpipe
Built by pro shaper Alli Zehetner and his team, the world-class superpipe in the Sonnenkarbahn area on the Kitzsteinhorn attracts world’s best halfpipe stars to the glacier. International legends in the world of freestyle prepare themselves during the Pipe Training Weeks from October 31st to December 4th 2022 on the up to 6.5-m-high walls of the mighty halfpipe for the upcoming season’s competitions. Snowboard pros and pipe champs can book exclusive training slots before the superpipe is opened to all riders in December.
Last year, numerous big names fine-tuned their skills for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games here – e.g. later snowboard halfpipe medalists Ayumu Hirano (JP), Scotty James (AU), Jan Scherrer (CHE), Queralt Castellet (ES) and Sena Tomita (JP) as well as the freeski halfpipe trio Nico Porteous (NZ), David Wise (US) and Alex Ferreira (US).
