From October until May, ski busses take skiers and snowboarders from many stops in town to the Kitzsteinhorn and Maiskogel ski resorts free of charge. Moreover, during winter season in Zell am See-Kaprun, the busses between Kitzsteinhorn/Kaprun ↔ Zell am See can also be used free of charge if a valid Kitzsteinhorn ticket is shown. There are also ski bus routes from/to Niedernsill-Piesendorf and Bruck-Fusch.

Postbus line 660 from the Zell am See train station via Kaprun Center/MK Maiskogelbahn to the Kitzsteinhorn valley station. Single-ride and multi-day tickets available in the bus.

In summer – from May 1 through Oct. 31 – Zell am See-Kaprun guests use all public transport services in the Pinzgau region free of charge with the Mobility Card Pinzgau.

Railjet Direct connection vienna – Zell am See

There are two OEBB railjet direct connections from Vienna to Zell am See on the weekends all year round. During the winter and summer seasons, a third connection complements the offer. The route leads over Sankt Poelten – Linz – Salzburg.

ICE GROSSGLOCKNER

The ICE Grossglockner allows a comfortable trip from Germany to Zell am See-Kaprun. Arrivals are scheduled for Fridays and Saturdays, departing from Hamburg, the returns for Saturdays and Sundays, which lead over Hannover all the way to Bremen.

ARRIVING BY PLANE
nearby airports

Austria's largest federal state airport is situated in the heart of the country, near the Salzburg city center, approx. 80 km away from the Kitzsteinhorn. Thanks to the good access to public transport and its own autobahn (highway) access point, Salzburg Airport can be reached easily. The airport is also perfect for continuing your journey to Zell am See-Kaprun. There are many shuttle services taking you from Salzburg Airport directly to the Kitzsteinhorn. Short distances, competent and fast check-in as well as a good infrastructure with catering facilities, shops, car rental and more guarantee a pleasant arrival and departure.

Munich Airport is approx. 180 km away from the Kitzsteinhorn. The suburban trains S1 and S8 take visitors quickly from the airport to the Munich Central Station, where trains to Zell am See leave regularly. Once at the Zell am See train station, busses run directly to the Kitzsteinhorn valley station.
