FAQ

TOP OF SALZBURG / Gipfelwelt 3000

Wir empfehlen einen halben bis ganzen Tag  einzuplanen.
Auffahrt spätestens um 13:00 Uhr ab der Talstation.

You have two options:

  • From the Kaprun town center (Kitzsteinhornplatz 1a): You take the MK Maiskogelbahn at the Kaprun Center, ride up to the top station and change to the 3K K-onnection – one of world’s most modern and energy-efficient cable cars that gives spectacular views of the high-alpine landscape. From Langwied, the other cable cars will take you all the way up to TOP OF SALZBURG.
  • From the Kaprun head of the valley (Kesselfallstrasse 60): You take the Gletscherjet 1 or Panoramabahn. From Langwied, the other cable cars will take you all the way up to TOP OF SALZBURG.

Please note: Both the MK Maiskogelbahn and the 3K K-onnection are not open all year round. Before your arrival, check the current Operation & opening hours »

Go to the route planner »

  • From the Kitzsteinhornplatz 1a: approx. 60–70 minutes (4 to 6 cable cars)
  • From the Kesselfallstraße 60: approx. 50–60 minutes (3 to 5 cable cars)

We recommend to plan at least half a day for your trip to TOP OF SALZBURG. However, the Kitzsteinhorn offers things and spots to see and explore for a whole day.

Please note: The latest time you should start your journey from the valley is

  • at 1:30 p.m. from the Kaprun town center (MK Maiskogelbahn, Kitzsteinhornplatz 1a)
  • at 2 p.m. from the Kaprun head of the valley (Gletscherjet 1 / Panoramabahn, Kesselfallstrasse 60)

Depending on which cable car is operating, either at 3:30 or 4 p.m. (last valley rides). Current operating hours are posted on the information board on-site and available on kitzsteinhorn.at/opening-hours. • In May and June as well as from approx. mid-Sept. to early Oct., instead of the Gletscherjet 2 gondola lift, the Langwiedbahn chairlift will be in operation due to maintenance work. Please ask our InfoService team about the exact and current hours of operation: +43 6547 8700, office@kitzsteinhorn.at
