risk’n’fun – the Austrian Alpine Club’s freeride training program – is back at Kitzsteinhorn this year.
The program offers all freeriders four progressive levels, guiding them from piste-adjacent freeriding to high-alpine terrain with solid knowledge and expertise.
In the Level 2 course at Kitzsteinhorn, the focus is on map reading, navigation, avalanche awareness, and planning first tours. Participants gradually take responsibility for their tours, learn to act independently, and deepen their risk management skills following the principle: “observe – assess – decide.”
