RISK'N'FUN LOCALS

January 4, 2026

On Sunday, January 4th, 2026, the Alpenverein Academy will host the risk’n’fun LOCALS Day for local youth at the Kitzsteinhorn.

Freeriders aged 10 to 12 will be out on the slopes off the groomed pistes with professionals from the Austrian Alpine Club. The focus is on raising awareness for safe riding in open terrain: What makes a run safe? How do you communicate within a team? What emergency equipment is necessary and how does it work?

In addition, basic skills for a successful freeride day will be taught. Expert input from the risk’n’fun team, combined with your questions, promises an intensive, educational, and hands-on day in the mountains.
