Between Glacier & Green
From the freshly snow-covered Kitzsteinhorn straight to the golf course: From May 13 to 16, 2026, Zell am See-Kaprun once again set the stage for an extraordinary combination of sports. At the Ski & Golf World Championship, 139 athletes from 12 nations competed in two very different disciplines. In the end, Zeno Felder and Sophie Dekker came out on top in the international field and claimed the 2026 world championship titles.
Giant Slalom & Golf Tournament
The competition got underway on Thursday at the Kitzsteinhorn at 3,000 meters. Fresh new snow provided excellent conditions for the giant slalom, where around 45 seconds of ski racing determined the first score. Swiss alpine ski pro Loic Chable took the day's win, while the Dekker siblings from the Netherlands led the women's field.
Despite cool temperatures, the action on the golf course quickly heated up. After the first round of golf on Friday, a tight head-to-head battle began to unfold, ultimately ending in a down-to-the-wire finale: Swiss athlete Zeno Felder secured the world championship title on the final hole, edging out Sam Maes and local favorite Alexander Heitzmann by just one stroke. In the women's competition, Sophie Dekker from the Netherlands came out on top.
