Recap of the Freeride World Tour Challenger at Kitzsteinhorn
March 13, 2026 – Three Austrians on the podium at the 20th anniversary edition of the legendary X OVER RIDE at Kitzsteinhorn
After the first two FWT Challenger competitions in Silvretta Montafon and Nendaz, the season entered a decisive phase at Kitzsteinhorn. The situation going into the contest was more exciting than it had been in a long time: the rankings in several categories were incredibly tight, and every run could reshuffle the deck in the battle for those coveted promotion spots.
FACE
The third FWT Challenger event of the 2026 season took place on the Lakarschneid face (2,260 m) at Kitzsteinhorn. The venue offered steep pitches of up to 40° and 310 meters of vertical drop, giving riders plenty of room to pick creative lines. Playful natural terrain features across the entire face allowed athletes to show both technical precision and freestyle style.
