Highlights and facts project K-ONNECTION
In November 2019, the long-awaited Kaprun–Maiskogel–Kitzsteinhorn 3K K-onnection began to run. It is now possible to ride directly from the town center of Kaprun (elev. 768 m) via the Maiskogel and up to the TOP OF SALZBURG mountain terminal on the Kitzsteinhorn thanks to a 12 km-long string of pearls consisting of six gondola lifts - in Winter as well as in Summer.
This makes Maiskogel Family Mountain in Kaprun more attractive than ever. And because there are now two different ways to reach the 100% snowy Kitzsteinhorn Glacier Ski Area, guests can select the option that works best for them.
Total comfort and a valley run down into the center of Kaprun
On foot from your hotel to the gondola. Now ride the new, ultra-modern MK Maiskogelbahn and 3K K-onnection lifts, first up the Maiskogel, then to the heart of the glacier ski area, where great snow conditions are 100% guaranteed. And when your winter sports are over for the day, hop back on board the lift with skis in tow for an enjoyable valley ride all the way back to the town center of Kaprun.

Opportunities to go "on bord"
With the K‑ONNECTION, visitors now have TWO different ways to reach the Kitzsteinhorn:
- Kaprun Center via K‑ONNECTION: Recommended for everyone who is staying within walking distance of the MK Maiskogelbahn valley station.
- Gletscherjet valley station: Recommended for day-visitors and everyone who wants fast, direct access to the glacier on the Kitzsteinhorn.
Unique Panorama Tour 768 - 3.029 m
The new Kitzsteinhorn Explorer Tour is offering a journey of discovery by means of the spectacular K-ONNECTION from Kaprun town center up into the realm of eternal glacier ice on the Kitzsteinhorn / TOP OF SALZBURG 3029 m - in Winter & Summer.
In two specially equipped Explorer Cabins, National Park Rangers accompany nature-lovers on a two-hour tour through four climate zones, sharing fascinating insights into the imposing mountain world, the natural phenomena of wintertime and the fascinating high-alpine world inside neighboring Hohe Tauern National Park.
SUMMER
Maiskogel family mountain & 3K K-onnection
Thanks to the new MK Maiskogel Lift, Kaprun becomes more attractive than ever for families and their children. This lift also runs in summer, providing convenient access to the hiking paths and bike trails close to town.
The new 3K K-onnection, linking the Maiskogel and the Kitzsteinhorn, is open in the summer months as well. The ultra modern cable car offers an extraordinary panoramic ride from 768 to 3,029 meters.
The Maisiflitzer, an Alpine Coaster which is likewise open year-round, as well as the family amusement park next to the valley station promise all kinds of fun and entertainment well into the evening hours.
