K-ONNECTION

From the Kaprun town center directly to the glacier

It's the longest cable car route in the Eastern Alps, with the greatest elevation gain, 2,261 vertical meters, in the same area: Up to six cable cars line up, starting in the Kaprun town center at 768 meters asl and reaching all the way up to the highest point in the Salzburg province to be reachable via cable cars on the Kitzsteinhorn at 3,029 meters asl. On the way, guests pass through four climate zones and enjoy breathtaking views – of snow-capped summits over green coniferous forests all the way down to the sparkling Lake Zell.

Panoramic journey

From the Kaprun Center in the Kaprun town center, the MK Maiskogelbahn brings you to the top station, where a real highlight is waiting:

The 3K K-onnection is considered one of world's most modern and energy-efficient cable cars and directly connects the Maiskogel family mountain to the Kitzsteinhorn. The ride leads over the taiga, the coniferous forest, while the majestic Kitzsteinhorn keeps getting closer.

After reaching Langwied, two to four other cable cars bring you up to TOP OF SALZBURG at 3,029 meters.

The 12-km-long panoramic ride from Kaprun to the glacier gives unique views of the high-alpine mountain world at the Hohe Tauern National Park border.
